AKIWAWA - The bimonthly party run by DJ Pun & Rainer celebrates its
10yrs anniversary with 4 special guests! DJs Feid, D.H, Buke One &
J.Rush playing Funk, Soul, Rap, Island and African plates from the
60/70s to today!
In May 2013, DJ Pun (Unique Records) and Rainer (Konzeptlos) hosted their first AKIWAWA party at Jägerhalle. The two had been regularly behind the turntables together before, e.g. from 2009 as resident DJs of the legendary "Antz In The Pantz" concert/party series at Kaserne Basel until its end in 2014. The Kaschemme opened its doors in the same year and they found a home there for their AKWIAWA parties with local and international guests like DJ Format, JJ Whitefield, Fredrik Lavik (Afro7) etc.
In addition to running the party-series in town and following their individual projects, they’ve been invited together as AKIWAWA DJs and heated up dance floors in/outside of Basel with their brilliant selection of sizzling Soul, African, Funk, Caribbean sounds of the 60s and 70s.
Tonight at Schall und Rauch they celebrate their anniversary together with long-time companions and their amazing sound picks. Not to be missed.
